Looking Back, and Looking Forward to Twenty Twenty Thrive - Happy New Year!
New Year is a time to look back on the passing year, and forward to the next. We’re reminded of this even in the naming of January, after the Ancient Roman god Janus, often depicted with two faces. He’s a portal god, one of change and transition, looking both behind, and ahead.
It’s as important to regularly take stock, and review what’s gone well and understand what made the difference, as it is to plan for the future. Many of us regularly put together long to do lists and do future diary planning, without really reflecting upon whether our previous efforts worked for us. And so, we don’t know whether our planned effort is well placed to progress towards and ultimately achieve our long term goals. This can mean we’re placing more importance on others priorities than our own, and are unconsciously deflecting ourselves, which is what makes regular daily, weekly and monthly or half-termly reflection essential, not just as an annual event. So, although New Year is a great time to reaffirm our commitment to our goals and refine them as necessary, this reflection should be a more regular event. This is particularly important this year, so we thrive in 2025, or ‘twenty twenty thrive’!
Looking back, it’s been a busy year. Our key goal of providing high quality, bespoke and interactive leadership development, whether 1:1, group or team sessions, to enable our clients to be their best selves, was amply fulfilled. Our partnerships have been particularly fruitful and productive and have allowed for continued learning and the development of new friendships.
This year we:
welcomed our 9th & 10th cohorts of Senior Leaders’, and 4th cohort of Middle Leaders’ Group Coaching Programmes, comprising 36 group sessions,
continued to provide Leadership Training Programmes for our video games clients,
provided many, many 1:1 coaching sessions, workshops, CPD sessions and Positive Intelligence PQ sessions,
joined the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as an accredited ACC associate,
travelled to Dublin, Morocco, Mull, Austria, Northern Spain, Brussels, and Cyprus,
met with friends and colleagues, old and new, and enjoyed some family time too.
Alongside our existing goals, a new goal for ‘twenty twenty thrive’ will be to become more involved in a partnership to ultimately establish a coaching programme for colleagues looking to become ACC and PCC accredited, by first achieving my own PCC qualification. The coming year looks to be equally full of fun, work, meetings, and travel, with lots of opportunity for further development. In 2025 we will:
welcome our 11th cohort of Senior Leaders to our Group Coaching Programme, and our 5th cohort of Middle Leaders. It’s wonderful to see this community and network grow each year,
continue to facilitate bespoke leadership development sessions with brilliant computer games companies. We really enjoy working in this vibrant, dynamic sector,
provide more team coaching, continuing and furthering this new service which we started early in 2024. It’s so satisfying to work with teams and see them grow,
visit many schools and companies for in-person or online CPD. Our staff training days are fun and interactive, and we provide one off sessions, full days, and twilights, covering any aspect of leadership including Leadership Presence, Developing Awareness, Resilient Decision Making, Establishing Psychological Safety, Successful Challenging Conversations, and more. The variety of these sessions is always a joy,
continuing to provide 1:1 coaching services, to both regular customers, and new. These sessions can be a mixture of in person, and online, depending on client needs, scheduling and budget. These sessions are so rewarding, getting into the nitty gritty with individuals, and celebrating resulting successes together,
travel. Those who know me know that Rob and I love to travel, seeing old friends and new places. Hopefully we’ll manage to complete the next leg of our journey, walking along the Camino Trail
We’ve had some wonderful times in 2024, and I’m really looking forward to even more in 2025 - my best wishes to you all for ‘twenty twenty thrive’, Happy New Year!
